Up to 250 Scholarships are available in this round for outstanding candidates for postgraduate study in Australia beginning in 2013.

Each scholarship covers travel, study and living expenses for study at any of Australia’s world-class universities and is valued at up to A$300, 000.

Australian Development Scholarships aim to build the capacity and leadership skills of students so they can personally contribute to Vietnam’s development. Academics, central and local government officials and people working on development issues in Vietnam are encouraged to apply.

“Australia is proud to invite applications from dynamic Vietnamese men and women, from every province of Vietnam, especially those from disadvantaged areas, ethnic minorities and people with disabilities” said Australian Ambassador, Mr Allaster Cox.

Exceptional applicants with leadership potential will be offered a prestigious Australian Leadership Award Scholarship which provides leadership training to students in addition to studies.

Awardees will join a 4000-strong network of Vietnamese alumni that have studied in Australia on Australian Government scholarships in the last 30 years, including many senior government officials, prominent academics and business leaders.

“The ADS program has helped me reach out to the sea of knowledge. I have many new experiences here in Australia. The learning environment is great.” said Ma Dieu Linh, an ethnic Nung Vietnamese, who has just returned to Vietnam after completing her Masters in Australia.

Applicants can apply online at www.asdiv.edu.vn from now until 30 April 2012. Selection results will be announced by September 2012 and courses will start from early 2013. The scholarships are for Masters and PhD studies.
